How to create a Forum??

I want to design a forum, but what i need are the resources and simple codes/scripts needed for the creation of any simple forum just like in any gaming clan. Plz, if anyone can forward me the instructions and the resources required, I would be grateful.. :)

For a free forum I would personally suggest a script called PHPBB. If you Google it you should find lots of information on how to install it, but if you need extra help feel free to post here.
